Rachel McDaniel Hughes

I got the pleasure of meeting Rachel on Tumbler. She is from Texas. She is an inspiration to others. She has a published book on Amazon, which speaks on healing from toxic relationships. Poetry helps her to express herself, but she likes to write other stuff. She enjoys drawing, painting, watching movies, and spending time with her kids. She has a 27, 14, and 9 year old. She has grandchildren. Rachel wrote a beautiful song, which I got the pleasure of hearing her sing so beautifully.

Rachel has been writing since she was in the second grade. She enjoys listening to and reading books and stories. She enjoys what she gets out of hearing other's words as well.

She started writing because of all the things in her young life that she had felt like she could not feel and say, but writing it helped to get her mind off of things going on. She really enjoys listening to music as an escape.

Ms. Hughes inspiration now to work on publishing her book and getting it out there was her mom. She lost her this past year. She admires that her mom put others first and never allowing for herself. She wanted better for Rachel, so she dedicated the book to her mom and decided to be good to herself.

Her poetry is based on life experiences of heartache, love, whimsical, and a lighter side to things.

Rachel hopes her readers keep going for what they want in life and to know that they all matter. We should all find ourselves and be loved for who we are.

Favorite writers are Ann Rice, Tolkien, Poe, Shakespeare, and of course the Bible, which she reads every day.  Psalms is her favorite book to read from. Imagine Dragons has several songs that have helped her through her healing process recently.

The good, the bad, everything we go through is an opportunity to learn and grow.

She wants everyone to hear and keep leading in what God wants us to do and to not ride him off. We need to give him the chance to show us who he is. If you feel that you are called to do more and there is a war within yourself over who you know you are versus who this world tries to make us, to remember to be you and live in your life, not trying to please others.

Please listen to the full podcast to hear amazing poems from her book.
